Burton Rambling Club

Walks in Staffordshire, Derbyshire,
the National Forest and the Peak District

CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK – CANCELLATION OF ALL ACTIVITIES

All Rambling Club activities are currently cancelled.  We have been following Government advice and we continue to do so.  Our top priority is protecting the health of our members, especially as we have many members over 70 years old or with health problems.  As an affiliated club of the Ramblers Association we are following their guidance.

They are cancelling:

all group led walks.

all Ramblers Walking for Health schemes.

all activities by Ramblers volunteers including training, path maintenance working groups, coach trips and holidays, meetings, group and social events

The Burton Rambling Club is also following suite.  ALL BURTON RAMBLING CLUB WALKS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Government guidance is changing all the time but it may be some months before we are able to meet again as a club.

If you are healthy, there is no reason why you cannot go walking in the countryside as an individual, with some friends, but you need to make sure that you are happy with the risks and understand that these will not be Rambling Club activities.

The updated guidance from the RA is available here:  https://www.ramblers.org.uk/coronavirus
